How we make
Sustainability
We make ten things. We make them to last. Everything else follows from those two decisions.
Recycled materials
Every piece in the collection uses recycled fibres where the performance allows it. Our shells and fleeces are built from post-consumer plastic — ocean-bound bottles and end-of-life garments processed back into yarn. Recycled content sits between 40% and 100% depending on the piece; you'll find the exact figure on every product page.
Our wetsuits use limestone neoprene rather than petroleum-based, and we're working with our Portuguese mill on a bio-based alternative for 2027.
Repair, not replace
Every Brightonkelp piece comes with a lifetime free repair guarantee. Wetsuit seam gone? Send it back. Fleece zip broken? We'll fix it. We'd rather mend something for a decade than sell you a new one every two years.
Drop off at the Bond Street studio or post it back — we cover return shipping.
Packaging
Plastic-free since day one. Orders ship in recycled card mailers sealed with paper tape. The hangtags are seed paper — plant them and you'll get cornflowers. We carbon-balance every UK shipment through a verified Ecologi partnership.
B-Corp certified
We've been a certified B Corporation since 2023, scoring 94.6 on the initial assessment. The full impact report is published annually each January. Our manufacturing partners in Portugal and Vietnam are audited yearly against the Fair Wear Foundation code of practice.
