Brightonkelp

Our story

A small brand, made by the sea.

Brightonkelp started in the winter of 2022, on the shingle between the West Pier ruins and the Peace Statue. Two of us were swimming most mornings, and neither of us could find a changing robe that felt right — most were too synthetic, too branded, too cheap-feeling for something you'd wear every day for a decade.

So we made our own. The Daybreak Dryrobe took eighteen months and seven prototypes to settle on. It's still the piece we're proudest of.

Everything we make follows from that. Six pieces, no more. Designed in our studio above a printers on Trafalgar Street. Made by long-standing partners in Portugal and Vietnam, factories we visit twice a year and have shared photographs from on our journal. Recycled where we can, repairable where we can't.

We're not trying to be the biggest. We're trying to make six things properly, sell them at a fair price, and still be here in ten years.
